Mirijam Kozorog, PhD, is a researcher at the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana (UL), Slovenia. She graduated from recombinant erythropoietin production and its analysis in 2011 at the Biotechnical Faculty, Ljubljana, Slovenia. In 2019, she completed her PhD at the Faculty of Medicine, Ljubljana, Slovenia, on the study of membrane–protein interactions of pore-forming proteins. She conducted most of the experiments at the National Institute of Chemistry, Ljubljana, Slovenia, and partly, as a guest at the University of Melbourne, Australia. She has specialized in molecular biology, molecular interactions, recombinant proteins and lipid nanoparticles and has experiences with solution and solid-state NMR and cryo-TEM. For more than 15 years she has also been involved in various industrial and EU Horizon2020 projects on upstream and downstream production of (biological) drugs and their biochemical analysis. She has been a work mentor for many research projects of high-school and PhD students. Her current research at the Laboratory for Extracellular Vesicles Research is focused on EVs delivery and uptake with focus on Nef HIV protein.
