Maja Vodušek has an MSc in Microbiology and is currently pursuing a PhD at the University Medical Centre Ljubljana and the University of Ljubljana. She is working under the mentorship of Professor Miha Arnol, MD, PhD, and Associate Professor Metka Lenassi, PhD, to advance her knowledge in the field of Nephrology.
Her research focuses on identifying new non-invasive urinary biomarkers of kidney allograft injury, with a specific interest in extracellular vesicles and their cargo properties. Maja aims to aid in earlier detection and treatment of kidney failure in transplanted kidney recipients and to contribute to a more personalized approach to transplant medicine.
