ESHG Pharmacogenomics Course

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to the ESHG Pharmacogenomics Course. The event will take place in Portorož, Slovenia, from June 4th to June 6th 2025 at Hotel Histrion.

This course aims at delivering up-to-date knowledge on pharmacogenomics and genomic medicine to PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in the fields of biomedicine and biosciences, clinical pharmacologists, pharmacists, physicians and other healthcare professionals, clinical and molecular geneticists as well as genetic counsellors in training or certified.

The purpose of the course is to familiarize participants with the current state of the art and clinical translation of pharmacogenomics and genomic medicine, next- generation sequencing, as well as biostatistical and bioinformatics approaches supporting personalized medicine.

The course creates an opportunity for interaction and discussion with experts from all over Europe. The faculty combines experts from many fields of pharmacogenetics and genomic medicine known for their teaching skills. Participants are encouraged to submit an abstract for on-site presentation of a clinical or genetic case in a poster format or as short presentation.

The course is organized by the Pharmacogenetics laboratory, Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana in collaboration with the European Society of Human Genetics (ESHG). Ten ESHG fellowhips are available to support the attendance of students, postdoctoral researchers, and residents in training.

This course is endorsed and supported by European Society of Pharmacogenomics and Personalised Therapy (ESPT), HORIZON-HLTH-2021-CARE-05 project: Improving Safety in Polymedication by Managing Drug-Drug-Gene Interactions (SafePolyMed) and HORIZON-WIDERA-2021-ACCESS-02 project: Pharmacogenomics Hub in a strengthened IMGGE (PharmGenHUB).
